Since 1990, Trisha has been a Certified Aerobics Instructor teaching a variety of aerobic classes from spin classes to yoga. Because of her interest in physical fitness she pursued a career in physical therapy and became a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant 1994. As a child, she lived in a Colorado and developed a love for the outdoors. It started with hiking and her favorites are Acadia National Park, Grand Tetons and the Grand Canyon. While finishing school in Denton, she picked up mountain biking. Not only has she competed in mountain bike races but also adventure races.

“I continued to teach aerobics because I love it and I need to work through school.”

After many years working in hospitals, outpatient clinics and nursing homes, she decided to accept a travel position in physical therapy. Traveling to Tennessee and not being able to teach aerobics, due to moving every 3 months, she fulfilled a dream of running a marathon - with a goal of “just to finish” - and finished it in 4:20. “I thought this would be my love but I quickly got bored with it” so she moved on to triathlons. After overcoming the fear of open water swimming, she was able to achieve sprints and olympic distances and then completed a half ironman this summer.

“My ultimate goal is to finish an ironman and this Climb the Canyon is a sure way to gain mental confidence.”

Trisha currently lives in Amarillo and works for RehabChoice in Amarillo Nursing Center. She also teaches aerobics at Golds Gym. She is currently training for the 80 mile ride at Climb the Canyon and is also in training for the Redman Ironman in Oklahoma City, OK September 22, 2007.

“I am fortunate to be part of this team but more importantly the reason for the ride - my love for children and to find a cure for cancer.”
